This Privacy Policy describes how ExHale ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application available on iOS and Android (bundle identifier `com.bbartoz.exhale`).
Last updated: July 29, 2026
The remainder of this document explains this in full legal detail.
ExHale does not have user accounts, sign-in, or authentication of any kind. Accordingly, we do not collect, and have no access to:
To provide its core functionality, the App stores the following categories of information exclusively on your own device, using local on-device storage (via `AsyncStorage`, managed through the App's local state persistence layer). This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 4 (Share Feature) or Section 5 (Purchases), and is never transmitted to us:
These are for motivational/informational purposes only and are not medical advice or a clinical assessment (see Section 8).
Because this information is stored only on your device, we (the developer) never receive, view, or have the technical ability to access it. It is not backed up to our servers, and we cannot recover it for you if you lose your device, uninstall the App, or use the in-app "reset" function.
You may delete all locally stored tracking data at any time using the reset function available in Settings, or by uninstalling the App, which removes all associated local storage from your device.
The App allows you to generate an image ("share card") summarizing your progress (e.g., streak length, money saved) and share it through your device's native share sheet (for example, to Messages, social media, or email apps you select). This image is generated and rendered entirely on your device. We do not receive a copy of this image, and any subsequent handling of it is governed by the privacy policy of the third-party app or service you choose to share it with.
ExHale offers an optional premium subscription ("ExHale Unlimited") that unlocks additional features (such as custom milestones, custom reminders, streak-freeze, and extended challenges). Purchases are processed through:
We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or other financial information — these are handled directly by Apple and/or Google.
For more information on how these providers handle data, please refer to:
If you grant permission, the App schedules local notifications on your device (for example, milestone celebrations or custom reminders you configure).
These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on-device using your device's operating system notification APIs. The App does not use a remote/push notification service, and no notification content or scheduling data is transmitted to us or any third party.
You can disable notification permissions at any time through your device's system settings.
Because your personal tracking data resides solely on your device, its security depends in significant part on the security of your device itself (e.g., device passcode/biometric lock, operating system security updates).
We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a secure lock method. Purchase-related data handled by RevenueCat, Apple, and Google is protected according to those providers' respective security practices.
ExHale provides general educational information about the typical health-recovery timeline after quitting tobacco, heated tobacco products, or cannabis use, along with motivational tracking tools (streaks, milestones, money saved).
This content is provided for general informational and motivational purposes only.
It is not medical advice, is not generated or reviewed by a licensed healthcare professional through the App, and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or addiction-treatment advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider with questions regarding a medical condition, substance use, or cessation program. Do not disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of information provided in the App.
ExHale is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, children. Given the App's subject matter (tobacco and cannabis use/cessation tracking), it is intended for users who meet the minimum age required by law in their jurisdiction to lawfully use tobacco or cannabis-related products or information, and in any event not for anyone under 17 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personally identifying information from any user, we have no means of identifying a child user; however, if you believe a child has used the App in a manner inconsistent with this policy, please contact us using the details in Section 13 so we can address it.
Because ExHale does not collect or store your personal tracking data on any server we control, most data-subject rights under regulations such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) are, as a practical matter, exercised directly by you on your own device — for example, the rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data are fulfilled by viewing, editing, or resetting the data within the App itself.
To the extent any data is processed by RevenueCat, Apple, or Google on our behalf in connection with purchases (Section 5), you may exercise applicable rights (such as access, deletion, or objection) directly with those providers, or contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to assist in forwarding your request.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not have any mechanism to do so since we do not collect such information.
If you use the App outside of your home country, be aware that any data processed by our third-party purchase provider (RevenueCat) or platform stores (Apple/Google) may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, in accordance with those providers' privacy policies and applicable data transfer safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons.
We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document when we do. Material changes will, where feasible, also be reflected in the App's release notes. Your continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at: info@tob.codes
